Travelogue: A Night At The Tivoli | Copenhagen, Denmark 2008

Warning: Gracielingo mode.

When I traveled to Denmark in 2008, the only pocket money I had was 200 NOK (means norwegian kroner). The feeling is the same when you only have a 200-peso bill in your pocket while traveling from the province of Samar to Metro Manila, imagine?
I just had to visit my cousin who was working there and she paid for the fare and expenses naman (Hay salamat bait naman sana kunin.. sige kayo na bahala sa karugtong). Kaso I thought I was going to take the plane (anne-bisyosha) but I was informed only the day before my trip na magba-bus and my ticket was sent thru SMS pa. Ano ba itech, taympers sumabit ng Swebus Express 200 nok lang ang keri, teks pa ang teklabombom? Noknokan ng shongabels menoche.

It was only 9-hour ride anyway and who am I to refuse the offer? Instead of sleeping the night before my trip, I used my time packing my things and thought I could sleep the whole journey (wiz nangyari). I only had a backpack with me because it was just a weekend visit anyway. Hello there travel backpackers! I belong, call me, "Gracie Da Wanderr Backpackerr"!

I arrived Copenhagen around 6 in the evening so it was a bit dark already. My cousin lived just few blocks away from the train station (#homealongdariles) but then she came few minutes late (Grrrr.. at Brrr..) so I was a bit frightened. I texted her like, O.M.G. I'm standing on the bridge waiting in the dark I thought that you'd be here by now..(Yeah, I'm with you!) After cooking and eating dinner which took us about 2 hours, my cousin invited me to go for a walk around the city (alay-lakad remember nofera). Shana lang di mabasa 'to ni cousin hehe!

Saturday night, massive people were expected all over the city. There was a loud music, party folks everywhere, drinking and dancing! Looks fun but there's no way I could enjoy the scene, not even fun to take photos around. Good thing she met few of her friends along the way and invited us to KFC! Say whuuut.. KFC made me dance (Yeah just dance in gangnam style).

So what else we did? Oh we went to Tivoli Gardens! Don't you know it? Memorial gardens ka dyan, wrong!
The famous amusement park of Denmark kaloka ka. Let's ask Wikipedia baby:

Tivoli Gardens (or simply Tivoli) is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in CopenhagenDenmark. The park opened on August 15, 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby Klampenborg.
With 3.963 million visitors in 2011[2], Tivoli is the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in Scandinavia and the fourth most visited in Europe, only behind Disneyland ParisEuropa-Park Rust and the Efteling.
