I'm Lucky To Have My Bestfriend
"Friendship is not about whom you've known the longest, but it is about who came and never left your side."

I have a best friend for 13 years now. Her name is Phoebe. I met her when I was in college, June 1999.
I don't remember the first time we really get along well with each other but there is one thing I will never ever forget about what she did..
It was the 14th of February year 2000, right after our first subject in the morning, she approached and handed me a card which she personally made. At first I was surprised, of course who would expect?
We were not close friends yet. I just knew we belong to the same group in some other subjects but we rarely talk. Anyway, I accepted the card and then asked her, "Why?" She smiled and uttered, "B'coz you're special to me.." I just stared at her still wondering, speechless.
"I wrote my favorite poem and thought I could share it with you. Did you like it?", she asked.
"Oh, the poem? Yes. I mean of course, that was awesome. Sorry I am just very overwhelm, but anyway thanks a lot!", I replied. Gave her a light hug.
Now, every time we talk and reminisce about the past, we both end up laughing over our stupidities and stuffs. Who would really expect our friendship would really last this long?
She was pleasantly plump and I was average thin. I was introvert and she was a bit loud. I felt intimidated whenever she was around. But since she was so makulit, she made me open up, felt comfortable and communicated with her very often. Then I got to know her better and so we hanged out a lot thereafter.
We became roommates from months to years and we've been through a lot of laughter and tears. We've known each other's secrets, strengths and weaknesses. We are officially partners in crime :)
I love her family, they treat me like their own child. I'm proud to call Phoebe as my sister. I call her parents mama and papa. I could stay with them for days or weeks whenever I don't feel like going back to our hometown or simply when I have trouble staying at home with my parents and siblings.
When I traveled and worked abroad, our communication stopped. Three years after, I found her thru a networking site and finally regain our long lost friendship. There was no drama but we missed each other's company a lot.
It's just so amazing that after long years of no communication, it seems like nothing had happened. I might have left the country and my bestfriend but the trust and friendship did not went away. It is just deep within our hearts.
By the way, it will be "The National Best friends' Day" on the 8th of June and then the whole month of June, is the celebration of our friendship's 13th year anniversary.
"HAPPY 13TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY MY DEAR BFF,
I MISS YOU SO MUCH! YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU AND LUCKY TO HAVE YOU!"
