San Juanico Bridge

Taken from my Sony Ericsson X12

Looks familiar? This picture shows none other than the famous and of course one of the longest bridges in the Philippines and in the Southeast Asia - the San Juanico Bridge, also known as the Marcos Bridge.

This connects Samar and Leyte and has a length of 2.2 kilometers and about 10 minutes to cross by vehicles.

San Juanico Bridge was built during the late President Ferdinand Marcos' administration and to show his true love to his first lady Imelda Romuladez-Marcos.

How did I know? Well, thanks to wikipilipinas.org for the infos! :)

Me and my friend was on the bus while I took this photo. It was a little bit shaky but somehow a good capture, if you agree?

    1. Glad you appreciate Rinny! This is in our country, Philippines. There's really a lot of amazing sights to see and even discover here. Whenever I pass by this bridge, I always open my window in a non-airconditioned bus in order to see this breathtaking view from the bridge :D have a wonderful weekdays ahead!

  6. Ormoc Leyte province ko but born in Manila lagi kong naririnig ang San Juanico Bridge sa parents ko ang ganda pala thanks for sharing this photo sayang I never got a chance to see it nung nagbakasyon kami ng husband ko dyan. Parang ganyan din ung structure ng Rainbow bridge connecting New York and Canada. Maipagmamalaki talaga ang pinoy!

    1. Di bale when you visit Leyte next time, better rent a van at magtour around Tacloban then patungong Ormoc dahil siguradong sulit at madami kayong makikita at mapupuntahan na tunay namang kahanga-hanga at maipagmamalaki. Iba pa din ang sariling atin, gawang Pinoy!
